Landscape photography workshop to Brecon Beacons, Wales

A meet at 18.00 on Friday & we took to battle the traffic & head to Wales arriving at 21.15 at the rented cottage, oven on & food, done.

An early start for sunrise had us heading for a snow covered mountain, little did we know that we too would get covered in snow.

The day saw us take in "The Cats/Dragons back" next to the "Castle Inn" then on to a woodland walk to find a waterfall near the town of Talgarth. Another turn in the weather meant we stopped for lunch in Talybont on Usk before we headed for same named reservoir although weather stopped us so on we went duly arriving at Pontiscill reservoir where the weather was good and saw us good for the rest of the day.

Sunday we were joined by Nicole & Paul local to Grosmont who took us to a truly mesmeric location "Llangattock Escarpment" where you could imagine Hobbits a plenty. The weather was again good to start then WOW fierce rain & epic wind of razor like proportions with a wind chill to match the following day posts of 30-40mph & wind chill of -16 were reported. This resulted in lots of camera shake on images, frozen fingers to cold to operate cameras & move filters etc so a real challenge. After breakfast in Crickhowell a fabulous drive (to wam up) to "Llanigon" to look over "Hay-on-Wye" & see "Lord Herefords Knob" then back through the valley to "Llanthony Priory" a few pics, mug of hot chocolate then the drive back to London.

A fabulous trip & one I will be repeating again sometime soon.
